Nefyn Treasurer Mike Pollitt passes away

It certainly has been a sad time for Football in North West Wales during the last few days. Following the death of Llanrwst Chairman, Phil Smith, the League has also sadly learnt of the death of Nefyn United FC Treasurer, Mike Pollitt, who had been a loyal and dedicated Club Official with the Llyn side over the last 15 years having moved from Burnley, Lancashire. Mike was a true but quiet gent, always greeted you warmly with that crop of white hair and that wry smile of his and was one of the first persons you would expect to meet when travellng to play Nefyn in recent times. He was also instrumental in gaining Nefyn promotion from the Gwynedd Football League to the Welsh Alliance League some six years ago and played a major part in community life throughout his area. He will be sadly missed by all those who will visit Cae'r Delyn and our thoughts and condolences are with his immediate family and friends.
