Beaumaris battle back to earn point

Leaders Llanystumdwy were well on course to record their fourth straight league win and protect their 100% start to the season after Ben Roberts and Meirion Pritchard gave them a blistering two goal lead inside the first ten minutes against hosts Beaumaris at Beach Road. But credit to the home side who battled back in the second period through Phil Owen and a Dean Hughes equaliser three minutes from time. Another side showing huge signs of improvement this term are last season's basement side Bontnewydd. They recorded their second successive home win of the season thanks to a Simon Kay first half double to see of visitors Bangor City. Llanfairfechan Town are also in the mix at this early stage hitting five without reply at home to Holyhead Hotspur. Dave Roberts gave them a 13th minute lead and this was doubled on the stroke of half time by Ben Pugh. Pugh added a third on the hour mark with other goals coming from Dave & Luke Williams. Both newcomers Llanllyfni and Trearddur Bay battled out an eight goal thriller with the Bay just edging out their hosts 5-3. Ryan Jones, Gareth Wyn Roberts and Ryan Booth gave the Islanders a three goal cushion at half time. A Carl Jones penalty for the home side on 47 minutes offered some hope but Booth quickly added his second and Trearddur's fourth on 55 minutes - game over one would have thought. Llanllyfni had other ideas and ensured a nail biting finish when an Arron Hughes double reduced the arrears to 3-4. With the home side commiting themselves to the equaliser, the visitors grabbed a crucial fifth with three minutes left courtesy of Barry Lavelle. Bethel's miserable week was complete and remain firmly rooted to the bottom of the League when Bro Goronwy had their shooting boots on to record an 8-0 thrashing with Chris Schafer, Steve Jones, Patrick Roberts, Sean Pritchard (2), Sam Aspinall, Andy Williams and Alex Jones all on the scoresheet
