Alun Mummery wins WFT Lifetime Achievement Award

Gwynedd Football League Management Committee member Alun Mummery has won the prestigious Welsh Football Trust's Lifetime Achievement Award

At 70 years of age Alun is still heavily involved in various levels of football as a Huws Gray Alliance life member, part of this League's Management Committee and most notably, Secretary of Llanfairpwll FC - where he is the main fundraiser and programme editor for the tier-three Anglesey club.

Alun first became secretary of Llanfairpwll FC in 1959 whilst a player until they disbanded in 1963.

He went on to work at Bangor City before becoming secretary of his home club again in the 1980-81 season, having helped them re-form in the early 1970s.

To this day, and more than 50 years on, Alun recalls missing only six games home or away and has been instrumental in ensuring that the club has won numerous fair play awards in all the leagues they have played in.
