Bro G & Bangor close gap

With leaders Llanystumdwy not playing until Saturday, both Bro Goronwy and Bangor City took the opportunity to close the gap with excellent wins last night. The Champions, Bro, had to rely on second half goals from Steve Jones and a Sean Pritchard penalty to eventually overcome visitors Holyhead Hotspur with a 5-2 win. Patrick Roberts and Sam Carter gave the hosts a two goal lead inside 15 minutes with the Harbourmen levelling through Tim Adamkiewicz and a Mike Edwards spot kick. Steve Jones restored Bro's lead on the stroke of half time and duly added his second four minutes after the break with Pritchard's decisive spot kick coming in the 88th minutes. Bangor City were always on top against strugglers Bethel and eventually ran out 6-0 winners thanks in the main to a Lance Williams hat-trick.

This evening, Llanfairfechan and Beaumaris shared the spoils in an entertaining 3-3 at the Rec in Llanfair. Luke Williams, former Beaumaris player Dave Roberts and an 87th minute leveller were the Llanfair marksmen with Darren Ishmael and a Paul Ainsworth double responding for the Islanders. Llanllyfni were involved in another goal feast at home, this time against visitors Bontnewydd after securing a 5-4 victory. Sion Morgan and two goals from Alun G Williams had given Bont a 3-1 half time lead with Terry Watkinson the Llanllyfni scorer. Kelvin Roberts, Scott Hughes and a first from Aaron Hughes completely turned the tables only for Williams to level again for Bont with his second of the match to make it 4-4. Not to be undone this time, Hughes scored the vital ninth goal of the match to secure Llanllyfni's first points of the season.
