Bangor City FC to move to Nantporth

Over the Christmas period saw the last competitive football match being played at Farrar Road, the home of Bangor City FC for many a year. A bumper 2,000 plus crowd turned up to see the Welsh Premier League clash with neighbours Prestatyn Town FC that saw the Citizens win a thrilling encounter by five goals to three to see them remain top of the tree over the festive season. There were obvious emotional scenes at the end of the match and City can now look forward to the future and Nantporth, located along Holyhead Road between the City and the old Menai Suspension bridge. The first competitive match at their new base will be a NWCFA Challenge Cup match against Welsh Alliance Division One Club, Caernarfon Wanderers FC on Tuesday, 24th January 2012 with a 7:30pm kick off. There has been a lot of hard work and activity at Nantporth during the last few months as can be seen in the recent photographs released.
