In their inaugural season at this level, Menai Bridge Tigers captured the Cwpan Gwynedd after beating title hopefuls CPD Llanllyfni 3-1 in yesterday's final played at the Oval, Caernarfon in front of a 300+ crowd. Striker Darren Liethwaite gave the Tigers an early 8th minute lead sweeping home a left foot shot from eight yards. The match then swung from end to end with both sides creating chances to add to the scoreline. But it took until the 75th minute for Llyfni to level the match in style when Rhys Williams volleyed home from all of 25 yards. But the Islanders were not to be denied and responded six minutes later when substitute Alex Davies restored Menai Bridges' lead and Man of the Match, Sion Hogan capped an excellent match with the third deep into stoppage time.
