NWCFA Intermediate Cup Round Up

By Alun Foulkes

Last eight of the competition has become clearer.

Aberffraw's narrow 1-0 win over Llannefydd courtesy of a second half Matty Reynolds winner has earned Beffro a home tie in the quarter finals against fellow Islanders Menai Bridge Tigers or Llanystumdwy who play their tie tomorrow.

Bodedern Athletic had to thank Casey Boylan and Barri Jones who both struck inside half an hour for their 2-1 win at Nefyn United. They will now travel to fellow Gwynedd League side Talysarn Celts who squandered a three goal lead and then squeeze their way through to the last eight with a stoppage time winner. Jac Jones bagged himself a hat-trick only to see hosts Machno United fight back to level the tie with seven minutes remaining. Celts held their nerve when Rhys Davies won the match with the decisive goal in the 92nd minute.

Cemaes Bay's midweek 2 nil win over Waunfawr has given them a tricky away tie at Llandudno Albion in the last eight.

The other remaining tie will see Vale of Conwy League sides Old Colwyn and Rhyl Town battle it out.
