Llannerch-y-medd 5 Bontnewydd 1

Champions Llannerch-y-medd ended their league campaign in style with a 5-1 victory over Bontnewydd and will now deservedly be promoted and ply their trade in the Welsh Alliance League Division Two next season. Llan amassed a total of 53 points out of 60 in winning 17 out of their 20 games and their only defeat came against Mynydd Llandegai way back in early September.

Their latest win came courtesy of a Gavin Sharpe penalty after 24 minutes, a Deion Evans strike on 40 minutes, a Mathew Jones double in the 49th and 50th minute and Iwan Williams completed the nap hand just before the hour mark. Iwan Jones had Bont briefly on level terms with a consolation in the 32nd minute.

Llan now have the opportunity to win the Bob Owen Memorial Shield when they meet Llanystumdwy next Friday night at Llanrug United FC, kick off 6:30pm.

The Gwynedd Football League would like to congratulate Llannerch-y-medd on a fantastic season and to wish them all the very best in the next 12 months and future years.
